Restore Transit Now Kickoff this week

Our campaign kickoff is on Thursday! Come make sure we start this campaign off on the right track. Show up and support restoring our buses.

WHEN:Thursday, June 28, 5-7pm
WHERE: the Hub event space, 203 Tacoma Avenue South in Downtown Tacoma.

We already have a growing list of co-hosts including:
Tacoma Mayor Marilyn Strickland, Fife Mayor Pro Tem Glenn Hull, Pierce County Council member Tim Farrell, Pierce County Council member Rick Talbert, Tacoma Council member Jake Fey, Tacoma Council member Ryan Mello, Gig Harbor Council member Derek Young, Tacoma School Board member Karen Vialle, Downtown Merchants Group President Judi Hyman, Former Mayor of Tacoma Bill Baarsma, Former Lakewood Council member Claudia Thomas, President of the ATU 758 Don McKnight and more.

Why you should care
On the ballot this November is a proposed sales tax increase which equates to 3 pennies for every $10 spent. This small investment will go a long way by restoring essential transit service for seniors, people with disabilities, students, and commuters in Pierce County.

Without this small sales tax increase, Pierce Transit will be forced to cut service by an additional 38%, resulting in no weekend bus service, no shuttle paratransit service, limited weekday service for commuters, 30 to 60 minute wait times, and even more overloaded buses.

So come help support the Restore Transit Now campaign. Please consider a donation of $25, $100, or $200, and show-up to the kickoff event on June 28th with five of your friends.
